Harvesting & storing
For those of us lucky enough to have an allotment or large vegetable plot, larger crops can be stored successfully well into the winter months. For root vegetables and potatoes, hessian is ideal as it allows circulation of air while excluding most light. We recommend sacks are stored in a cool, dry, dark place, preferably off the ground. Here at Nutley's, we have our sacks made to order by the last known sack-maker in Britain. As well as those on offer here - including our highly successfully easy-carry size - we can quote on other sizes and colours.
